What does a VPS host need from me to deliver a server?

A VPS host needs a confirmed payment and a way for you to log in; everything else is policy. At OffshoreKVM, the payment is a crypto top-up and the login is your SSH public key.

A VPS host needs only two things to deliver a server: a confirmed payment and your SSH public key.

Other hosts add name, phone and email fields for billing records and fraud checks. OffshoreKVM leaves them out. It keeps an account number, an email only if you add one, your orders and top-ups, and your servers' details, never a name or an address.

How many VPS hosts require an email, a phone or ID?

Most offshore VPS hosts require an email, a few ask for a phone, and few ask for ID. According to OffshoreKVM's check of 29 October 2026, 28 of 36 active hosts require an email address to sign up.

Only 7 of 36 offshore VPS hosts checked on 29 October 2026 let you sign up without an email. Three need none, and four make it optional.

  • ID document: 26 hosts ask for none at signup, 7 ask in some cases and 1 (HOSTKEY) always.
  • Phone number: AlexHost and Bacloud mark a phone field as required on their signup forms. 1984 Hosting keeps it optional, and VPSBG advertises no phone verification.
  • Name and address: BuyVM, SwissLayer, KoDDoS, Ultahost, OffshoreDedi and CryptoVPS.host ask for them on the form, with no ID check.

The ID rules of every host are compared under which VPS providers don't require KYC.

Which VPS hosts let me sign up without an email?

Seven hosts in our check, besides OffshoreKVM, let you sign up without an email. Each one replaces it with a generated credential, a username or an account key.

Which hosts ask for a name, an address or a phone number without ID?

Several hosts that never ask for an ID document still ask for personal details. No ID check is not the same as no personal data: BuyVM, for one, asks for a real name and a residential address.

  • BuyVM: a real first name and surname, a residential address, and details that match the payment method.
  • SwissLayer: its FAQ says an email is enough, but the live signup form requires a name and a postal address.
  • AlexHost and Bacloud: name, phone and address fields marked as required; both can also ask for documents later.
  • Servers.Guru, IncogNET and MyNymBox: an email only, and aliases or temporary addresses are accepted.

At OffshoreKVM, the signup holds no such field. Read the rest of a host's terms too: what does no KYC mean for a VPS lists the triggers that bring ID back.

How do I buy a VPS at OffshoreKVM without ID, a phone or an email?

Six steps, with no personal data at any point.

  1. Create an account

Create an account in the OffshoreKVM client area. You get an account number, and adding an email is optional.

  2. Store the account number

Your account number is how you sign in, so store it carefully. With an optional email on file you can recover it; with no email, a lost number is gone for good. A password manager or a paper copy kept apart from the server works.

  3. Choose a plan, a location and a system

Pick a plan on how much an offshore VPS costs at OffshoreKVM. Then choose Amsterdam, Reykjavik, Zurich or Bucharest, and a Linux system.

  4. Add your SSH public key

Root access over SSH with your own public key; password login is off by default. Paste the public key only; the private key stays on your computer.

  5. Top up in crypto

Top up at least $25 in one of BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. Send the exact amount the payment page shows, on the network it shows. The coin guides cover how to buy a VPS with Bitcoin and where to buy a VPS with USDT.

  6. Wait for your server

A person creates your VPS after your payment is confirmed, so it is not instant; your dashboard shows the status, then the IP address once the VPS is running.

What happens if I lose my account number?

Without an email on file, a lost account number cannot be recovered. Your account number is how you sign in, so store it carefully. With an optional email on file you can recover it; with no email, a lost number is gone for good.

Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat. If someone asks for your account number, it is not OffshoreKVM.

Can a VPS host still identify me without ID?

A host can link a server to you through data other than an ID document. Three links remain: the IP address you log in from, the payment trail and what the server publishes.

OffshoreKVM keeps none of the first. No logs: we keep no connection logs, no traffic logs and no IP addresses of visitors or customers, on the website, the dashboard or the VPS. The payment trail sits on the public blockchain, outside any host's control. The guide to what my VPS provider can see on my server covers the server side.

In general, yes. ID checks are a legal duty for banks, crypto exchanges and payment firms. In most countries, a company that rents servers is not one of them. What you run on the server is what the law judges. OffshoreKVM answers to Panamanian law: OffshoreKVM is run by DomaineGoat LLC, a company registered in Panama, and answers only to Panamanian law. The datacenter that houses each VPS is in its own country and follows that country’s law. This is not legal advice.
