TRC-20 or ERC-20: which USDT network should I use?

Use the network your USDT already sits on; both credit the same OffshoreKVM balance. TRC-20 runs on Tron and ERC-20 on Ethereum, two separate blockchains.

USDT on TRC-20 and USDT on ERC-20 are the same dollar token on two different blockchains. A payment must stay on the network the payment page shows.

  • Addresses differ: a Tron address starts with T, an Ethereum address with 0x.
  • Fees differ: Tron fees are paid in TRX and Ethereum fees in ETH. Your wallet needs some of that coin besides the USDT.
  • Confirmation times differ: the table below gives the typical time for each network.

USDC works the same way at OffshoreKVM, on Ethereum (ERC-20) only.

How does a USDT top-up work at OffshoreKVM?

The same five steps apply to every coin. Pick USDT, then Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), and use that network in your wallet.

  1. Top up $25 or more

Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.

  4. Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain

Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. Deploy your VPS

Pick a plan, a location, a system and your SSH key, and the top-up is set to the plan price, or to the minimum for a cheaper plan. Once the payment is confirmed, a person creates your VPS and its IP address appears in your dashboard. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your VPS. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

What if I send USDT on the wrong network?

USDT sent on a network the payment page did not show cannot be recovered. That includes USDT on BEP-20, Polygon or Solana, and any other coin sent to a USDT address.

Funds sent to OffshoreKVM on the wrong network or in the wrong coin cannot be recovered, so check the network before you confirm. Exchanges list several networks for USDT withdrawals: pick TRC-20 for a Tron address and ERC-20 for an Ethereum address. Send the exact amount shown, then click "I've sent the payment".

Why pay for a VPS in USDT instead of Bitcoin?

USDT keeps a steady dollar value while the payment confirms, and OffshoreKVM prices every plan in US dollars. The USDT amount stays close to the dollar price, whatever Bitcoin does while the payment confirms.

Stablecoins also match how refunds work here. If a VPS cannot be set up, or does not run and support cannot fix it, the days it did not run go back to your balance. Balance never expires. Top-ups are not paid out unless the law requires it; the part added only to reach the minimum top-up comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it is unspent. For on-chain BTC instead, see how do I buy a VPS with Bitcoin.

How much does a VPS cost in USDT?

OffshoreKVM prices plans in US dollars: KVM 1 $3.08, KVM 2 $4.92, KVM 4 $8.25, KVM 8 $13.50, KVM 16 $20.62 per 30 days. KVM 4 at $8.25 gives 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 80 GB NVMe. The cheapest comparable no-KYC crypto plan on 29 October 2026 cost $11.00 (VSYS Host).

Every OffshoreKVM plan costs at least 25% less than the cheapest comparable plan of 24 no-KYC crypto VPS hosts checked on 29 October 2026. Every tier is on how much an offshore VPS costs at OffshoreKVM. The other coins are compared under which offshore VPS providers accept crypto.

Buying a VPS with USDT: frequently asked questions

Can I buy a Windows VPS with USDT?

Not at OffshoreKVM: Linux only: Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux. No Windows. 24 of the 36 hosts in our check offer Windows; check which USDT network each one names.

Does OffshoreKVM accept USDT on BEP-20 or Polygon?

No. USDT is accepted on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20) only, and USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20).

Do I need TRX to send USDT on TRC-20?

Yes. Tron charges network fees in TRX, so the sending wallet needs some TRX. An exchange withdrawal pays that fee for you and charges its own withdrawal fee.

How long does a USDT payment take?

The balance is credited once the payment is checked on the blockchain, after the network confirms it; the payment table gives the typical time. Then a person creates your VPS, so delivery is not instant.

Can I get a refund in USDT?

Yes, for the part of a top-up added only to reach the minimum. It comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC, if unspent. Other refunds go back to your balance.

Which no-KYC VPS hosts take USDT on TRC-20?

Servury, VPSDEN, AliasVPS, Bit.Hosting, TLDBunker and CryptoVPS.host name TRC-20, per our 29 October 2026 check. OffshoreKVM takes TRC-20 too, with no KYC; see which VPS providers don't require KYC.
