Is Switzerland good for an offshore VPS?
Yes: Switzerland is good for an offshore VPS if you want a server outside both the EU and the EEA. Its revised Federal Act on Data Protection has applied since 1 September 2023. 12 of 36 hosts checked by OffshoreKVM on 29 October 2026 offer Switzerland. OffshoreKVM sells a VPS in Zurich from $3.08 per 30 days, paid in crypto with no KYC.

Switzerland is the only one of our four countries outside both the European Union and the European Economic Area. It belongs to EFTA with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, but it is not part of the EEA Agreement. It deals with the EU through a set of bilateral agreements instead.
Swiss data protection has its own law. The totally revised Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) came into force on 1 September 2023, according to the Swiss data protection commissioner. The European Commission lists Switzerland among the non-EU countries whose data protection it recognises as adequate.
For a customer in the EU, the US or the UK, a Zurich VPS is offshore in the full sense: another country, and outside EU law.
Swiss law applies to the Zurich datacenter. Swiss hosts show two ways of reading it:
OffshoreKVM has the same split as SwissLayer: a Panamanian operator and a Swiss datacenter. DMCA ignored: we do not act on DMCA notices or other foreign copyright notices. We answer only to Panamanian law and to orders of Panamanian courts. No logs: we keep no connection logs, no traffic logs and no IP addresses of visitors or customers, on the website, the dashboard or the VPS. The datacenter that houses your VPS follows Swiss law, and we do not control its network equipment. The policy in full: what does DMCA ignored mean for an offshore VPS.
12 of the 36 active hosts in OffshoreKVM's check of 29 October 2026 offer Switzerland, behind the Netherlands, the United States and Germany. Zurich is named by 8 of them. Eight of the 12 accept Monero and eight ask for no ID at signup.
The cheapest comparable 1 vCPU / 1 GB / 20 GB plan we found in Switzerland was Bit.Hosting at $6.00 a month, against $4.12 in the Netherlands and Romania. The Swiss specialists charge more: PrivateAlps from €12.90 ($14.36), SwissLayer from $19.95. KVM 1 costs $3.08 in Zurich, the same as everywhere at OffshoreKVM.
Tor relays are a point of difference. PrivateAlps and SwissLayer allow Tor exit relays, while AlexHost's rules ban them. Tor relays are allowed, exit relays included, as well as middle relays and bridges: see which VPS allows a Tor exit node.
